Ron & Melissa Morein
Ron Morein currently serves as Senior Pastor of Oak Grove Assembly of God in Springfield, Missouri, and Melissa serves in Women’s Ministries and Administration in the church office. They have been actively ministering for Christ on a daily basis at Oak Grove since March of 2002. Ron and Melissa have been married for over 34 years, and they have two daughters, Tori and Crissy, and a new grandson! Ron and Melissa have been in active full-time ministry for well over 36 years. Ron is a graduate of both CBC and AGTS with a Masters Degree in Theology.
Early Childhood Director
Tori McBain serves as the Early Childhood Director at Oak Grove and is also an ESL teacher in the Ozark school district. She is a graduate of Evangel University with a major in Elementary Education. She is married to Caleb McBain, who is a middle school teacher in the Springfield school district. Tori & Caleb have both grown up at Oak Grove. They have one son, Hudson, and are extremely excited to work with kids and teach them about the love of Jesus!
Early Childhood Assistant Director
Betty Jo Shaulis
Betty serves as the Early Childhood Assistant Director at Oak Grove and is a mother of two children. She is married to Josiah Shaulis, who is a professional counselor. Betty Jo has grown up at Oak Grove and her parents attend as well. They have daughter Quinn, and son Weston. They are happy to serve and work with kids and teach them the Bible each week, all in a very safe loving environment at Oak Grove!
Garry & Joni Dorris
Since 2014, Garry and Joni have served as middle school pastors of Oak Grove. In 2016, God led them to transition to Children’s Ministry. They have been married for over 10 years and have two kids, Michael and Quinlan. Garry graduated from MSU in 2003 with a degree in Middle School Education. Prior to Oak Grove, Garry and Joni served at the Northern Missouri District AG Campground. Garry and Joni have attended Oak Grove since 2009, and their goal at Oak Grove is to support and be there to listen to the needs of our children.
Charles “BEAR” and Ruth Burka
Bear grew up in Oklahoma and his wife, Ruth in the State of Texas. They both had the privilege of growing up in Christian homes. Bear earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Leadership, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO. Ruth earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and currently works at Assemblies of God Headquarters in Springfield. They fell in love with the Springfield area and purchased a home to settle down here. They have a passion for learning, teaching, and ministering to youth. Bear was called into youth ministry while he was still in high school and has worked hard to make this happen ever since. Their preparation time has completed, and, now the couple will work together as a team in youth ministry. They love connecting and having fun with students while encouraging them to strengthen their relationships with Christ. Bear also plays the keyboard and loves to worship God through anointed music.
Crissy grew up attending Oak Grove Assembly, as well as having the awesome privilege to grow up in a pastor’s home and ministry environment. She has actively participated in various areas of ministry throughout the years at Oak Grove. With music and worship as one of her passions, Crissy has been blessed to lead many different teams for over seven years. She serves the church in Outreach as well as overseeing all Music, Worship, and Media with the help of her talented husband Taylor, who is an instrumentalist and great asset with his degree in Communications. Crissy oversees all Community Life of Oak Grove and is well-prepared in that area with her college training. She graduated in 2016 from Evangel University with a Business Management/Non-Profit Degree. Crissy and Taylor have a big heart for people, and, as worship leaders, are simply there to host the Presence and Glory of God into the church services through anointed music.
Elizabeth currently serves as Media/Business Assistant at Oak Grove. She is a videographer, photographer, graphic designer, and administrator who is in the midst of pursuing a Business degree in Accounting at Evangel University. She and her husband Austin come from Holden, Missouri, and enjoy serving Oak Grove and the surrounding community.
Carol is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God and her passion is missions and reaching people with the Gospel. In 2002, she joined Oak Grove as a Minister of Pastoral Care. Carol met her husband Bob at Oak Grove and they were married in 2005. From 1986-2002 Carol was a Missionary Associate with the AG serving in Brussels; Liberia; Sierre Leone; and Tirane. She also served on Convoy of Hope’s International Disaster Relief Team.
